Shaolin Kung Fu - 18 Ji Ben Gong

Ji Ben Gong are the basic techniques of kung fu. Before learning a 'Tao' (form), one first learns the Ji Ben Gong (all with their own applications), before putting them together as a form.

These are the 18 Shaolin Ji Ben Gong, the very important basic techniques of this style :

01 - Ma Bu Tan Bian (Horse stance / Double fiststrike to the front and back)

02 - Gong Bu Xie Xing (Bow and arrow stance / Double fiststrike to front and side)

03 - Pu Bu Que Zhang (Skimming step stance / Knife hand strike)

04 - Xu Bu Ge Zhang (Empty step stance / Double open hands block)

05 - Xie Bu Chong Quan (Sitting stance / Fiststrike)

06 - Ji Xing Bu (Chicken stance / Knife hand strike in front, hook hand strike back)

07 - Pi Tui (Kick with stretched leg / Inversed fiststrike down)

08 - Tan Tui (Forward kick / Hands along sides)

09 - Ce Chang Tui (Side kick / Double fist block high and low)

10 - Hu Tan Tui (Side kick / Block with hand (throwing sand))

11 - Qian Shao Tui (Nail Stance / Jump with knee kick / Skimming step stance / Forward sweep)

12 - Hu Shao Tui (Double block / Stamp foot / Bow and arrow stance / Sweep / Chicken stance) 

13 - Dan Pai Jiao (Forward kick, slapping hand on foot)

14 - Wai Bai Jiao (Inside-outside kick, slapping hands on foot)

15 - Li He Jiao (Outside-inside kick, slapping hand on foot / Heron stance, Double block)

16 - Er Qi Jiao (Jumped forward kick)

17 - Peng Kong Wai Ti Jiao (Bow and arrow stance / Double strike with fingers / Lotus kick)

18 - Xuan Feng Jiao (Horse stance / Whirlwind kick)
