Shaolin Kung Fu - Qi Gong

There are many stories and legends about the powers of the Shaolin monks, known as Qi Gong. First of all; Qi is the energie that flows through the body. Qi Gong, is breath-control, meaning that by the use of breathing and concentration (and of course years of hard training), the monks can control their Qi on the part of the body that they want, and that way make it insensible to an attack.

There are many forms of Qi Gong. Usually one divides the different forms of Qi Gong into the hard- and the soft Qi Gong.

The Shaolin monks devote a lot of time during their training on Qi Gong. Also a lot of their 'normal' training is devoted to the promote breath control. Here you can find a few pictures of the monks performing their Qi Gong demonstrations as well as their hard training...
