Shaolin Kung Fu Styles

All styles of Shaolin kung fu have their own characteristics. There are many different styles in Shaolin kung fu. The techniques of a style are combined together in 'forms' (known as 'Kata' in karate) A form is called a 'Tao' in Chinese, and this part of kung fu is thus called 'Taolu'.  Every movement in a form ofcourse represents one or multiple combat techniques, and are not just meaningless movements (often there are also some hidden combat-applications, only shown to a few students...)

The Shaolin school of kung fu has developed and adopted many styles of kung fu. Ofcourse there are also kung fu schools that practice only one of the above mentioned styles, like for example the school of eagle kung fu.  That´s why you´ll also find a lot of these schools in the kung fu section...
