Shaolin Kung Fu Styles

Mei Hua Quan (Plum Blossom Boxing)

The Shaolin 'Mei Hua Quan' form, which means 'Plum Blossom Boxing' is a very traditional, and one of the oldest still excisting Shaolin boxing forms. It's about 1500 years old. The Mei Hua Quan form consists of a lot of the movements that look a lot like the modern wushu's Chang Quan form. Mei Hua Quan is a very complete boxing style.

There are two sets named Shaolin Meihua Quan in Songshan Shaolin Quan: Xiao Meihuaquan (Little Plum Blossom Fist) and Da Meihuaquan (Big Plum Blossom Fist). Xiao Meihuaquan is also known as Shaolin Ditang Meihuaquan. Is said that these sets are created by Jinnaluo Wang.

In this style we also see weapon froms like the ´Mei Hua Gun´ (plum blossom stick), and the ´Mei Hua Dao´(plum blossom broadsword).
