Shaolin Monks

There are of course too many Shaolin monks to line them all up here. However we try to list here the most famous Buddhist (warrior) monks of the Shaolin temple.

First, to better understand the names of the monks, it's good to know a little more about it. The name of a Shaolin monk / disciple, always excists of three parts. The fist part is 'Shi', a monk / disciple of Shaolin. The second part depends on the generation of the monk. The abbot of the Shaolin temple during the Song dynasty 'Fu Ju' has written a poem and every caracter in this poem represents a generation, starting with abbot Fu Ju, and not with Ba Tuo, or Bodidharma. The third caracter of the name represents the monk's name.
