Shi Xing Wu
Shi
Xing Wu, secular name Master Yuan Zhen Wu, is a 32nd generation
Warrior Monk from Shaolin Temple. Born into a family with martial
art traditions, at the age of 8, he studied directly under the
Abbott and many other Masters bestowing upon him a rare mastery
and extensive combination of skills including: 18 weapons, 72
martial art forms, and Qigong (including Iron Shirt, Gold Bell
Shield, Yi Jin Jing Xi Sui Jing and more).
He
has dedicated his career to passing on the authentic training
methods of Shaolin Temple and has established Shaolin Martial Arts
Academy near Vancouver in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
At age 18 year, he became the Head Coach of the Warrior Monk
(Eighteen Lohans) Team. After acquiring many championships in
International tournaments, he became the leader of the prestigious
Shaolin Temple Performing Team where he traveled to more than 30
countries around the world.
In
addition to producing an outstanding set of Shaolin Martial Arts
Instructional DVD’s, he has worked on over 14 movies including
Kung Fu Panda as the Action/Animation Model for all of the 5
Animal Fists/Kung Fu movements and he directed the action for the
more than 1000 Shaolin Monks in the new Shaolin Temple movie with
Jackie Chan (Feb 2011 release date). He is also featured in the
books The Soul of Shaolin Martial Arts and 100 Extraordinary
Martial Artists of the World.
Shi
Xing Wu is recognized as a Level-Nine National Martial Arts
Master, Top-Tier International Martial Arts Coach, Top-Tier
National Wushu Referee, received the "World's Top 100
Extraordinary Martial Arts Artists Award" , is a Lifelong
Honorary Technical Advisor to the Chinese National Wushu
Association and Advisor to the Canadian Film Institute.
Shaolin
Martial Arts Academy has been established in the Vancouver, BC
area since 2002 to promote Kung Fu learning from Shaolin’s
1,500-year rigorous tradition of uniting Chan Buddhism and Kung
Fu. Private and group lessons for all ages are offered in Shaolin
Kung Fu, Wushu, San Da, Qigong, Tai Chi, Yi Jin Jing, Shaolin
Weapons and more. He and his students have performed in many
venues around the Vancouver area including a performance at the
2010 Olympics’ Surrey Celebration site.
