Isabel & Ronald - Thailand Trip 2007 - Intro 01 - ´The Idea´

...In february 2007 we decided that after the summer season in the south of France we would go on a holiday for at least a month in Thailand...

The idea was to drive back to Germany after the season had finished, and then a few weeks later to take the airplane from Frankfurt Airport...

Arriving in Bangkok the idea would be to take a ´Tuk Tuk´to carry us to the hotel that we´d booked through the internet, and from then on to organize the rest of our trip in Thailand...

In Bangkok of course shopping would be a very important part of our journey... (Isabel...) ...and for me the palace of the royal family, and maybe a Muay Thai (thai-boxing) match were scheduled...

Then after having spent a few days in Thailands capitol we´ld book a flight to the south-eastern island ´Koh Samui´, to stay there for a few nights...

...The idea for Koh Samui was basicly to arrive, find cheap accommodation, enjoy the beaches, the sea, the jungle, and hopefully go on a jungle safari by elephant, swim under one of the waterfalls, or fly to either Hong Kong or Singapore for a few days... maybe even a day-trip to Koh Pha Ngnan, it must have some nice parts.... but it´s known for it´s mass-party-tourism... (Especially during the Full Moon Party !) ...of course a trip to Koh Tao, the turtle island, was also planned...

After ´Koh Samui´ the idea was to fly to Phuket, known as the ´Pearl of Thailand´, situated in the south-west of Thailand.  (...Koh Phuket, because it´s an island, and the word ´Koh´ (Or 'Ko') means Island in Thai...)

Our idea was to stay in Phuket for just two days and then to move on to the Phi Phi Islands by boat...

Arriving on the main Island of the Phi Phi Islands, called Phi Phi Don, our idea was to stay there for a while, and make some daytrips to the tropical islands of the Phan Nga Bay, between Phuket and the province on the mainland called 'Krabi'...
