Wushu - Weapons - Dao Shu (01)
The
broadsword is a weapon that's been used in China since the first manufacturing
of iron. On the battlefield it was probably one of the first commonly used
weapons. After a while one also started using it for physical training. In wushu
competition it has become one of the most popular-, and most used of the weapons. In
wushu the broadsword is being used in single-handed and double-handed forms. The
broadsword is sometimes also used in combination with the nine sectional chain
('Jiu Jie Bian') which is a very difficult routine.
