Wushu - Weapons - Nan Gun

Nan Gun means Southern Stick. It's one of the 'long' weapon routines in wushu. The Nan Gun routine has, like the southern broadsword (Nan Dao), only been added to the wushu competition a few years ago. It has more agressive moves than the Gun Shu stick routines.

The Nangun (Chinese: 南棍; pinyin: nángùn; literally "southern staff") is a southern variation of the "northern staff", which is nowadays used mostly in contemporary wushu exercises and forms.

The Nanquan event in contemporary wushu competition refers to the Nanquan method of using the staff.
